Prepare Your Medical History
Having as much information as possible can help our experts make the best decisions about a potential treatment plan. All records must be translated into English. Your records may include:
- Medical summary, including details of the diagnoses, medical testing, and treatments
- Lab testing within the last year
- MRIs, CT scans, X-rays, etc.
- Pathology slides

Your Medical Records Will Be Reviewed
After you submit all the pertinent information, our experts will review your documents and determine if the patient can benefit from an evaluation and/or potential treatment at Duke Health.
The International Service Team Conducts a Financial Review
If you plan to self-pay, a cost estimate for treatment will be provided. Full payment must be received before scheduling care.
If you have international insurance or your care is financially covered by your country’s government, our team will request receipt of a letter of financial coverage before scheduling your care.
Your Treatment Will be Scheduled
We will coordinate and schedule appointments after the patient is accepted for treatment and is financially cleared.

You will receive confirmation from our team once your care is scheduled. Our team is available to help you plan your trip to Duke, and can make recommendations for lodging, travel, and local resources. We ensure you have everything you need when you arrive at Duke.
