About Me
I am a hand and reconstructive surgeon who treats all conditions of the hand, wrist, and forearm and performs nerve and soft tissue reconstructive procedures all over the body. I have a particular interest in conditions causing poor blood flow to the hands and reconstruction of traumatic upper and lower extremity injuries. I trained as an engineer and try to be analytical and thorough in my approach, but I truly cherish most the personal engagement and interaction I have with my patients. During my medical training, I enjoyed learning about the complexities of the form and function of the hand, so I decided to focus my practice in this area. My father is a family medicine doctor who still practices, and I have always felt that being a doctor is one of the highest callings.

Ratings and Reviews
The ratings and reviews are based on patient responses to the overall provider rating question from the survey. The question reads: “Using any number from 0 to 10, where 0 is the worst provider possible and 10 is the best provider possible, what number would you use to rate this provider?” Responses are converted to a 5-point rating system and applied consistently to all providers. Learn more about our survey process. Patients who see some types of providers receive a different version of the patient satisfaction survey. Those results are not available on DukeHealth.org.
Training and Education
Clinical Focus and Research
I am actively engaged in research on the processes of shared doctor-patient decision making and have published research on disorders of the hand, upper extremity, and reconstructive surgery. My work also focuses on developing research studies to identify new treatments and learning how these treatments can be applied to improve the lives of patients.
