About Me
As a specialist in gynecologic cancers, including uterine, ovarian, cervical, vaginal, and vulvar cancers, I take care of women from the time of diagnosis, perform their surgeries if needed, and coordinate chemotherapy and/or radiation therapy according to the treatment plan we set out together. I have experience with a wide variety of surgical techniques, including robotic and laparoscopic approaches tailored to meet the individual needs of each patient. I strongly believe that cancer care continues from the time of diagnosis all the way through survivorship. I try to focus on clear communication and discussion of all of the appropriate treatment options to determine what makes the most sense for each individual woman. Duke has been a wonderful place to work because of the diverse and talented team members encompassing every part of women's cancer care. We are also conducting exciting research to determine how best to treat women with cancer or at risk of cancer. Outside of work, I spend as much time as possible with friends and family as well as yoga, biking, and traveling.

Ratings and Reviews
The ratings and reviews are based on patient responses to the overall provider rating question from the survey. The question reads: “Using any number from 0 to 10, where 0 is the worst provider possible and 10 is the best provider possible, what number would you use to rate this provider?” Responses are converted to a 5-point rating system and applied consistently to all providers. Learn more about our survey process. Patients who see some types of providers receive a different version of the patient satisfaction survey. Those results are not available on DukeHealth.org.

Clinical Focus and Research
My research involves investigating how abnormal placentas invade human tissues in ways analogous to cancer cells. I also study how frailty predicts outcomes after cancer surgery.
