Duke University Health System SMS Terms and Conditions

When you sign up for text messages from Duke University Health System, you are signing up to receive text messages related to your relationship with Duke University Health System and its affiliates, including updates related to your visits, My Duke Health account, one-time passcode, billing notifications, prescription reminders, education, fraud alerts, chat messaging, security alerts, and care management.

By agreeing to participate in the Duke University Health System Hello World SMS text messaging program, I agree and understand the risks associated with sending and receiving my protected health information via SMS/MMS text messages and that such electronic communications may not be secure. I understand that consent is not a condition of any treatment, that I can opt-out at any time by texting STOP to the respective short code, and that use of my information for the Duke University Health System Hello World SMS text messaging program is subject to the Duke Health HIPAA authorization (when applicable), these terms and conditions and the Duke Health Online Privacy Policy.

You can opt out of SMS messages by texting STOP to the respective shortcode. Your opt-out request will generate one final message confirming that you have been unsubscribed. You will no longer receive SMS messages from the shortcode you opted out from.
