About Me
I love caring for infants, children and adolescents. I treat surgical problems in the neck, chest and abdomen such as congenital anomalies, childhood cancers, pectus excavatum, lung abnormalities, hernias and intestinal problems. As a mom, I understand that when a child is ill, it affects the entire family. It is always my goal to facilitate healing, peace and advocacy for families.

Ratings and Reviews
The ratings and reviews are based on patient responses to the overall provider rating question from the survey. The question reads: “Using any number from 0 to 10, where 0 is the worst provider possible and 10 is the best provider possible, what number would you use to rate this provider?” Responses are converted to a 5-point rating system and applied consistently to all providers. Learn more about our survey process. Patients who see some types of providers receive a different version of the patient satisfaction survey. Those results are not available on DukeHealth.org.

Clinical Focus and Research
My research focus is global surgery. There are many places around the world where children cannot access surgical care. Children often live with chronic disability or die before they can obtain surgery. It breaks my heart to know that most of these diseases are treatable, but kids cannot access the treatment. My work has focused on training and supporting surgeons in sub-Saharan Africa and finding creative ways to increase children's access to surgery in low-income areas.
