My Locations
About Me
I specialize in patients with liver diseases, ranging anywhere from abnormal liver tests to liver damage such as cirrhosis. I also enjoy performing a variety of gastrointestinal procedures such as screening colonoscopies, endoscopies, and banding varices of the esophagus. I became a physician because I love getting to know my patients, and I believe that treating patients means getting to know them on a personal level. Trust and open communication between myself and my patients is one of the most important things to me. I chose to specialize in liver disease because I love developing long term relationships with my patients, and liver disease is an evolving field with more and more treatment options being uncovered every day, including advances in liver transplantation. I grew up in the Detroit area of Michigan, and have fallen in love with everything North Carolina has to offer. When I'm not seeing patients, I enjoy playing soccer with my husband, board games, spending time at the Durham Museum of Life and Science with my daughter, and reading fantasy novels.

Ratings and Reviews
The ratings and reviews are based on patient responses to the overall provider rating question from the survey. The question reads: “Using any number from 0 to 10, where 0 is the worst provider possible and 10 is the best provider possible, what number would you use to rate this provider?” Responses are converted to a 5-point rating system and applied consistently to all providers. Learn more about our survey process. Patients who see some types of providers receive a different version of the patient satisfaction survey. Those results are not available on DukeHealth.org.
