About Me

I am returning to Duke with my wife and four children. We have been living in eastern North Carolina where I have been in private practice doing pediatric and adult spinal surgery for 20 years. I am board certified in both orthopaedics and spinal surgery and was drawn to the specialty after working at a Shriner's hospital during my training. I try to approach each individual patient with a few fundamental goals. I first try to listen to what has brought someone into my office and then provide them with a diagnosis. I focus on options for management  both non-operative as well as surgery. I also hope to engage the patient or family to participate in the  decisions as it relates to the treatment options available to them.

Ratings and Reviews

The Patient Rating score is an average of all responses to care provider related questions on our nationally-recognized Press Ganey Patient Satisfaction Survey. Learn more about our survey process. Responses are measured on a scale of 1 to 5 with 5 being the best score. Patients who see some types of providers receive a different version of the patient satisfaction survey. Those results are not available on DukeHealth.org.
