About Me
I am an orthopaedic surgeon and do total hip replacements, total knee replacements, knee arthroscopy, shoulder arthroscopy, and orthopaedic trauma. We normally start with non-operative treatments, which are fairly low-risk. When those fail, then surgery becomes the only or best option. I like that orthopaedics can take patients who are debilitated, in a great deal of pain, frequently can’t sleep at night, and restore a great deal of function and improve their quality of life. It’s incredibly rewarding. Duke has a great deal of expertise and there are very few things you can’t get addressed here and in the best manner possible. We offer excellence in the orthopaedic programs we offer.

Ratings and Reviews
The ratings and reviews are based on patient responses to the overall provider rating question from the survey. The question reads: “Using any number from 0 to 10, where 0 is the worst provider possible and 10 is the best provider possible, what number would you use to rate this provider?” Responses are converted to a 5-point rating system and applied consistently to all providers. Learn more about our survey process. Patients who see some types of providers receive a different version of the patient satisfaction survey. Those results are not available on DukeHealth.org.

Before scheduling your appointment, we strongly recommend you contact your insurance company to verify that the Duke Health location or provider you plan to visit is included in your network. Your insurance company will also be able to inform you of any co-payments, co–insurances, or deductibles that will be your responsibility. If you proceed in scheduling an appointment and your health insurance benefits do not participate with Duke, your out of pocket liability may be higher. We will contact you regarding your coverage and patient liability. If you are uninsured, learn more about our financial assistance policy.
Doctor is great - wait time is outrageous and finding someone that cared that I had other appointments was poor.
Dr Stanley, his nurse, X-ray staff and clerical staff are excellent.
I truly like Dr. Stanley, although he's always late. He gave me the most honest and best advice about having knee surgery. Always listen to the specialist instead of other doctors who give advise beyond their expertise. Dr. Stanley is a very great doctor. I appreciated his honesty.
Love Dr Stanley!
The questions I had about my knee issue were answered.
The nurses had to work together to get the job done.
Very good experience look forward to further care.
The receptionist in lab for bloodwork is always the best.
