About Me
My mother was a pediatrician in India during a time when it was not common for women to be doctors. Her independence, and the satisfaction she received from devoting her life to charitable, compassionate care for her patients, inspired me to pursue a career in medicine as well. I am a trained pediatrician with a subspecialty in clinical and biochemical genetics. While I see patients diagnosed with a variety of genetic conditions, I have specific expertise in lysosomal storage disorders (LSDs), including Pompe disease, Gaucher disease, Fabry disease and mucopolysaccharidoses (MPS) disorders. I also have expertise in the areas of glycogen storage diseases and Down syndrome. I connect very well with children, and I cherish the life-long relationships with them and their families that result as I care for them not only during infancy, childhood and adolescence, but throughout their adult lives as well. Children are vulnerable, and yet, they represent our future. To be a part of that future, to help patients live their best possible lives despite their medical diagnoses, is truly gratifying.

Ratings and Reviews
The ratings and reviews are based on patient responses to the overall provider rating question from the survey. The question reads: “Using any number from 0 to 10, where 0 is the worst provider possible and 10 is the best provider possible, what number would you use to rate this provider?” Responses are converted to a 5-point rating system and applied consistently to all providers. Learn more about our survey process. Patients who see some types of providers receive a different version of the patient satisfaction survey. Those results are not available on DukeHealth.org.
