I am a pediatric pulmonologist who helps care for patients with breathing difficulties due to asthma, chronic lung disease of prematurity, sickle cell-related lung disease, cystic fibrosis, primary ciliary dyskinesia, recurrent pneumonia, chronic cough, inability to handle respiratory secretions, and lung injury related to certain medications, procedures, or other diseases. My goal is to develop an achievable and effective plan of care for each patient. To do so, I strive to provide families with multiple approaches to their child's medical problem and collaborate with them to choose the best option. Sometimes, this choice is complex and may involve medications, testing, imaging, and procedures. These decisions are not made lightly, especially in pediatrics, and I am always transparent with families about available options, starting with the least invasive while considering timely diagnosis and treatment.
