About Me
Geriatric medicine specialists all have personal stories about why we chose this complex branch of medicine. For me, it was my intergenerational upbringing and immigrant grandmother who always believed I would eventually become her doctor ("mi doctora"). Watching my grandmother and caregiver parents try to navigate the complicated health care system made me passionate about ensuring that the appropriate interprofessional care is delivered to older adults across all settings of care. Getting to share my passion with learners in the classroom, at medical meetings, and at the patient's bedside gives me energy. I hope to pass along my compassion for the unique needs of older adults to my two daughters.

Ratings and Reviews
The ratings and reviews are based on patient responses to the overall provider rating question from the survey. The question reads: “Using any number from 0 to 10, where 0 is the worst provider possible and 10 is the best provider possible, what number would you use to rate this provider?” Responses are converted to a 5-point rating system and applied consistently to all providers. Learn more about our survey process. Patients who see some types of providers receive a different version of the patient satisfaction survey. Those results are not available on DukeHealth.org.
