LaWanna M. Starks, MD

My passion for caring for my patients is boundless. I treat patients from birth to young adulthood in the urgent care setting. I chose pediatrics because young people are innocent, yet resilient. I also believe that it takes a village to care for a child. My approach to patients is holistic, encompassing their entire circumstances and focused to determine the best course of evaluation and treatment. I advocate for my patients, listen with compassion and utilize the skills and knowledge that come from over twenty years of practice in diverse settings to achieve the best outcomes for my patients. In my role, I care for those with everything from the common cold to strep throat, asthma, broken bones, and minor lacerations. I also recognize when referrals are needed and direct patients appropriately. I always strive for excellence. My passion outside of work is spending time with my family. I also enjoy exercising, traveling, reading, and creative writing.
