About Me
The field of pediatric oncology offers a tremendous opportunity to improve the lives of cancer patients through the discovery, development, and compassionate administration of treatment. It is a privilege to journey alongside these patients and their families, and I learn from them each day. It is also a privilege to work with a dedicated and talented team of physicians and other medical staff as we try to comprehensively address the needs of our patients. Although I see a variety of children with cancer or blood diseases, my research focus is in sarcoma, which are tumors of connective tissue such as bone or muscle. Collaboration is necessary for progress, and my goal is to work with other clinicians and researchers at Duke Health and across the country to provide the very best treatment and support for the patients who have been entrusted to our care.

Ratings and Reviews
The ratings and reviews are based on patient responses to the overall provider rating question from the survey. The question reads: “Using any number from 0 to 10, where 0 is the worst provider possible and 10 is the best provider possible, what number would you use to rate this provider?” Responses are converted to a 5-point rating system and applied consistently to all providers. Learn more about our survey process. Patients who see some types of providers receive a different version of the patient satisfaction survey. Those results are not available on DukeHealth.org.
Training and Education
Clinical Focus and Research
My research focus is on the development of new therapies for pediatric and young adult patients with sarcoma. I work with other clinicians across the country to develop new treatment regimens for sarcoma patients to better understand the nature of sarcoma and how patients respond to treatment. It is only through clinical trials that we can further our understanding of this rare disease and hopefully continue to improve the outcome of our patients.
