About Me
As part of the Orthopaedic team, I treat patients with primarily neck or back pain through various conservative evidence-based treatments to allow them to remain active. My approach focuses on understanding your pain, determining the contributing factors, and finding out what to do about it. This includes providing in-office treatments for immediate relief when possible and offering tools, tips, and techniques to empower you to be proactive in pain prevention and equipped when pain appears in your day-to-day life. I find it valuable to learn your activity goals upfront in order to better gear your care to your individual needs and lifestyle. The most rewarding experiences of my career are seeing patients resume the activities they love, whether that is conquering fitness challenges or simply playing with their grandchildren. Coming from Dartmouth Health, I have seen firsthand the benefits of early conservative intervention in a team-based environment for spine related disorders. I plan to continue this collaborative model at Duke Health to limit delays in care and minimize unnecessary costs. When not at work, I enjoy spending time with my wife, son, and daughter, exploring new areas in our retro Winnebago camper.

Clinical Focus and Research
I am interested in conservative spine care methods and strategies to ensure that patients get to the right provider at the right time. I have been a part of several projects that looked at the benefits of chiropractic care within a large health system, particularly early in a patient’s pain experience and how to avoid unnecessary costs including imaging, medications, and referrals.
