About Me
I am a non-invasive cardiologist, focused on the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of a variety of cardiovascular conditions. I have a special interest in the causes of aortic disease. The focus of my patient care is treating patients as individuals and developing a relationship built on trust and mutual respect. I see patients with all types of cardiovascular conditions ranging from vascular disease to hyperlipidemia and hypertension, to structural heart disease. In my spare time, my wife and I stay busy with our five children.

Ratings and Reviews
The ratings and reviews are based on patient responses to the overall provider rating question from the survey. The question reads: “Using any number from 0 to 10, where 0 is the worst provider possible and 10 is the best provider possible, what number would you use to rate this provider?” Responses are converted to a 5-point rating system and applied consistently to all providers. Learn more about our survey process. Patients who see some types of providers receive a different version of the patient satisfaction survey. Those results are not available on DukeHealth.org.
Training and Education
Clinical Focus and Research
My research has focused on cardiovascular pharmacology and the pathophysiology of aortic disease. I have published numerous articles in these fields. In addition, I was a previous recipient of the American College of Cardiology/William F. Keating Esq. Endowment Career Development Award, a Fellowship with the Sarnoff Cardiovascular Research Foundation, the Duke Department of Medicine Chair's Research Award, and a K08 Career Development Award from the National Institutes of Health.
