About Me
I’ve loved making art for as long as I can recall. This love of creativity led me to pursue art academically, a path that later led me to art and family therapy. As a medical family therapist with Duke Health's Teen and Young Adult Oncology program, I help patients and families manage the countless stressors of cancer treatment, survivorship, and end-of-life circumstances using a variety of creative approaches based on their needs, concerns, and hopes. I work to establish a safe space for discussion, follow my client’s lead, learn about their experiences, and offer support and strategies to help them better understand and cope with what they are facing. This work is unbelievably rewarding on a daily basis. Away from work, I love spending time outdoors being active with my wife, two kids, and two dogs. I also love spending time in my studio painting and drawing. I see patients primarily through telehealth.
