About Me
My clinical interest lies in the care of critically ill patients in the intensive care unit, as well as general pulmonary consultation for both inpatients and outpatients. In addition to my medical training, I have a scientific background in signal transduction and immunity. This dual training allows me to explain to my patients not only why something is happening, but also the mechanisms of how the body and the treatment works. In this way, I am able to engage my patients and their families and caregivers so that they can make informed decisions. Having recently moved to North Carolina, my family and I have enjoyed exploring the variety of hikes and activities found in the Durham area and many state and national parks.

Ratings and Reviews
The ratings and reviews are based on patient responses to the overall provider rating question from the survey. The question reads: “Using any number from 0 to 10, where 0 is the worst provider possible and 10 is the best provider possible, what number would you use to rate this provider?” Responses are converted to a 5-point rating system and applied consistently to all providers. Training and Education
Clinical Focus and Research
My research experiences have included the investigation of the mechanisms of immune evasion by viruses as well as the investigation of inflammatory phenotypes associated with variation in the lung microbiome. My current research interest is focused on the metabolism of immune cells during infection and the changes that occur during periods of health and disease. My goal is to learn how this knowledge can be harnessed to improve patient outcomes in sepsis and septic shock.
