About Me

I am a fertility specialist with a focus on female reproductive system imaging using ultrasound and hysterosalpingography. I may be seeing you in the fertility clinic for one of these procedures. I understand that fertility and pregnancy loss are difficult journeys for couples, and I approach each patient with empathy. I will do my best to make the procedure required during the diagnosis and treatment of these problems are on time, well-explained, and as comfortable as possible. I approach patients with a true desire to provide an excellent experience from start to finish.

Clinical Focus and Research

My Research Interests

I am interested in very early pregnancy in humans, particularly the approximately two and half weeks between conception (fusion of egg and sperm) and when a woman has a positive pregnancy test. Little is known about this stage of pregnancy and studying it is very difficult because a woman does not know she is pregnant at this time, yet several important diseases of pregnancy may begin at this stage. The effects of exposure to medicines, street drugs, or infections during this time may have serious consequences. We study this stage by modeling the development of the placenta, the organ through which mother and baby communicate, in the lab.
