About Me
I do individual therapy, family therapy, and dialectical behavior therapy for emerging adults and their families. I primarily see 18- to 25-year-olds and help them with the transition to adult life. The dialectical behavior therapy program is unique in that we treat young adults and their families in the same room at the same time. Dialectical behavior therapy is a comprehensive, multimodal therapy for folks with emotion dysregulation. The way that we do it here that is really unique is that we treat emerging adults and their families. That doesn’t exist anywhere else. We have individual therapy for young adults with emotion dysregulation, and then we teach their parents and caretakers the same skills. It’s fun to be able to teach young adults a whole new set of skills, a whole new way of interacting with their peers, with their parents, with their emotions. I am pretty direct and irreverent and heavy on problem-solving. I balance that problem solving with validation but also get straight to the point.
