About Me
I am a nurse practitioner who works with adults who have heart and blood vessel conditions. My PhD focused on finding early indicators of a specific type of heart failure. My favorite part of my job is connecting with patients and letting them know that we are here to listen and make them feel better. I like to know about patients’ home lives and other lifestyle factors, so we can build those factors into a medical plan that works for them.

Ratings and Reviews
The ratings and reviews are based on patient responses to the overall provider rating question from the survey. The question reads: “Using any number from 0 to 10, where 0 is the worst provider possible and 10 is the best provider possible, what number would you use to rate this provider?” Responses are converted to a 5-point rating system and applied consistently to all providers. Learn more about our survey process. Patients who see some types of providers receive a different version of the patient satisfaction survey. Those results are not available on DukeHealth.org.
Training and Education
Clinical Focus and Research
My primary interest is in using echocardiograms to identify risk factors prior to the development of heart failure. My research goal is to identify biomarkers measured by echocardiogram that are therapeutic targets for intervention. I would like to design prospective trials that study the impact of stress on the development of heart failure along with interventions that prevent onset.
