About Me
I am a neurosurgeon with a passionate interest in taking care of patients with brain tumors. I am committed to providing both excellent clinical care, ensuring that I am doing everything I can to better understand brain tumors, and finding better ways to treat them through laboratory research. From a surgical perspective, I believe in having a strong grounding in traditional techniques such as microsurgery and using cutting-edge methods and minimally invasive approaches to give patients the best outcomes with less risk. I also believe that being diagnosed with a brain tumor is the hardest thing a patient and their family can go through, and it is my role to help guide them through this process step by step, making sure they are as knowledgeable and comfortable with the situation as possible. Nothing makes me happier than when patients and their families tell me that they are relieved and reassured after our visit together.

Ratings and Reviews
The ratings and reviews are based on patient responses to the overall provider rating question from the survey. The question reads: “Using any number from 0 to 10, where 0 is the worst provider possible and 10 is the best provider possible, what number would you use to rate this provider?” Responses are converted to a 5-point rating system and applied consistently to all providers. Clinical Focus and Research
My research lab focuses on using single-cell sequencing techniques to study intratumoral heterogeneity in malignant brain tumors. Intratumoral heterogeneity is the idea that individual cancer cells within a patient’s tumor are different and can respond differently to treatments. I also have an active interest in developing patient-specific models of disease where we can learn how an individual patient's tumor might respond differently than another. My ultimate goal is to further advance precision medicine approaches for malignant brain tumors, and ensure that patients are getting the right treatments for their specific tumors.
