Our urogynecologists evaluate and treat women with the full spectrum of conditions related to the bladder and pelvic organs. We use nonsurgical and surgical treatments to correct pelvic floor disorders, including:

  • Urinary and fecal incontinence
  • Pelvic organ prolapses
  • Vaginal fistulas

Specialized Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgeons

If surgery is recommended, our gynecologic surgeons are trained in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery that uses small incisions and advanced techniques to relieve your pain and discomfort. The use of smaller incisions results helps you recover faster with less pain and less risk of post-surgical complications. Some minimally invasive procedures can be performed in the clinic. Operations and procedures are also performed close by at Duke Raleigh, or at Duke Ambulatory Surgical Center and Duke Regional Hospital.

Care and Treatment of Menopause Symptoms

Women who experience symptoms of perimenopause and menopause may receive care from our certified menopause practitioner. During your visit, she may ask questions to better understand how your menopause symptoms are affecting your quality of life. She will determine whether you may benefit from additional testing or treatment.

Your routine gynecological care may include:

Our gynecologist may conduct annual return visits to address your overall reproductive and sexual health and to recommend screenings to help you prevent and reduce your risk for chronic conditions.

Planning Pregnancy/Fertility Concerns

If you are planning to become pregnant or are having difficulty getting pregnant, our fertility specialist can identify medical issues that can prevent conception. If the problem is more complex, we may recommend additional tests to pinpoint the cause of your or your partner’s infertility and offer appropriate infertility treatment options.
