Duke Health Lake Norman Hospital provides quality emergency care as efficiently as possible to people in Mooresville and surrounding areas when they need it most. Our highly trained staff treats everything from cuts and broken bones to life-threatening conditions such as heart attack or stroke. 

Duke Health Lake Norman Hospital participates in the 30 Minutes or Less ER Service Pledge. It is in effect at all times and applies to all ages, from infants to senior citizens.

Emergency department staff will greet you as soon as you come in, and a nurse will assess your condition through a triage process. We know your time is valuable, and we pledge to work diligently to have a medical professional see you within 30 minutes of your noted arrival.

This doesn't mean you will be on your way home within 30 minutes.

Please note that in order to provide the best experience and the shortest wait times we only display a rolling four-hour window of available slots at any given time.

While we aim to do an initial evaluation within 30 minutes of your noted arrival, we hope you understand that the most severe cases will always receive immediate attention. Depending on the nature of your illness or injury, and the unpredictable volume of patients requiring emergency care, the wait time and duration of each visit will vary.

The pledge does not mean we will rush you through the emergency department. Rather, we've made process improvements that focus on getting people into a room as quickly as possible and enabling our providers to perform an initial evaluation and begin the diagnosis and treatment plan promptly.
