About Me

I advocate for a collaborative therapeutic approach that fosters a strong alliance, ensuring individuals feel supported, valued, and empowered. Recognizing therapy as a dynamic, ongoing process, I meet people where they are, adapting our work to facilitate growth and change. With extensive experience, I address various presentations, specializing in treating eating disorders across all ages. Within the Duke Healthy Lifestyles program, I focus on children and adolescents with obesity, employing family-based behavior therapy to navigate health behavior change and mental well-being. My commitment is to diminish weight-related stigma, fostering body positivity while honoring acceptance and change goals. Whether working with individuals, couples, or families, I approach interventions systemically, delving into the influence of family-of-origin dynamics. Informed by evidence-based models like emotionally-focused therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, motivational interviewing, and systemic therapy, I bring a comprehensive clinical perspective. Beyond clinical practice, I contribute to the Duke Family Studies program, passionately guiding trainees to think systemically and develop into exceptional therapists.
