Orthopaedic Specialists in Wake Forest Treat Joint Pain and Injuries

Make an appointment at our orthopaedic clinic in Wake Forest if you experience an injury or chronic pain in your feet, ankles, knees, hands, shoulders, elbowswrists, or back, or if you were injured during a sport or recreational activity. We diagnose and treat sprains, strains, fractures, and tendon and ligament tears. We also evaluate and treat chronic joint pain that limits your range of motion or makes it difficult to perform routine activities.

Our physician assistants and nurse practitioners are often the first medical professionals you will see. They are specially trained in joint and bone pain injuries. They perform exams, refer you for imaging scans (which are available in our office or in the same building), and explain your results.

Nonsurgical Treatments Offered

As part of your treatment plan, they may recommend a range of nonsurgical orthopaedic treatments, such as bracing and casting, joint injections, and more. Physical therapy takes place in a different clinic in the same building.

Orthopaedic Surgeons in Wake Forest

Surgery may be needed if your injury is serious and nonsurgical options are not effective. It may also be recommended if you experience chronic pain that can be corrected by joint replacement surgery. To determine if surgery is needed, you will be evaluated by an orthopaedic surgeon who specializes in your type of joint injury. They will see you before and after your surgery at this clinic. Most operations are performed at Duke Raleigh or Duke Ambulatory Surgery Center Arringdon.

Hand and Knee Surgery Appointments Available in Wake Forest

Our hand surgeon is experienced in evaluating and treating conditions such as carpal tunnel syndrome, which can cause pain, numbness, or tingling in the hand or wrist, and make it difficult to perform even the simplest tasks. Our knee surgeon treats the full range of knee injuries.

Accepted Insurance

Duke Health contracts with most major health insurance carriers and transplant networks, including the ones listed below. Before scheduling your appointment, we strongly recommend you contact your insurance company to verify that the Duke Health location or provider you plan to visit is included in your network. Your insurance company will also be able to inform you of any co-payments, co–insurances, or deductibles that will be your responsibility. If you proceed in scheduling an appointment and your health insurance benefits do not participate with Duke, your out of pocket liability may be higher. We will contact you regarding your coverage and patient liability. If you are uninsured, learn more about our financial assistance policy.
