As someone who specializes exclusively in heart and lung imaging, I see a broad range of patients and health problems -- everything from shortness of breath and chest pain to heart disease and lung cancer. One of the fantastic things about Duke is that we offer subspecialty care and treatment. Instead of general radiologists, we have subspecialists, meaning that patients with specific diseases will have their imaging performed and read by physicians who have subspecialty imaging training to provide the highest quality level of care possible. I have the opportunity to work with other subspecialists within surgery, oncology, cardiology and other divisions throughout the Medical Center to provide comprehensive, quality care. I have eight children, so most of my time outside of work centers around family activities. As a family, we enjoy working in the home and yard together, playing at parks, attending sporting events, and occasionally going to the beach or mountains.
