About Me
As a family medicine doctor, I strive to create strong partnerships with my patients and empower them to take an active role in their health care. Together, we will set health goals and develop strategies to achieve healthy living. I was drawn to family medicine for its variety and I enjoy working with patients of all ages and backgrounds, including the LGBT population. My interests include women's health, sports medicine, nutrition and wellness. I am passionate about population health, health care disparities, improving access to quality health care and social determinants of health. In my free time, I enjoy spending as much time a s possible outdoors - whether it be running, swimming, cheering on a Duke athletic team or simply exploring all that Durham has to offer.

The Patient Rating score is an average of all responses to care provider related questions on our nationally-recognized Press Ganey Patient Satisfaction Survey. Learn more about our survey process. Responses are measured on a scale of 1 to 5 with 5 being the best score. Patients who see some types of providers receive a different version of the patient satisfaction survey. Those results are not available on DukeHealth.org.

Clinical Focus and Research
Much of my research has been focused in population health topics including obesity prevention, nutrition, food access, health care legislation and policy and the built environment. My research interests also include medical education and preparing future health care professionals to more effectively contribute to interdisciplinary medical teams.
