DELFI INCLUDE Study (Lung Cancer Screening) - Clinical Trial
What is the Purpose of this Study?
We are doing this study to learn more about the DELFI Lung Cancer Screening Test. We want to know when it is most appropriate and beneficial for people to have this test. The test is designed to diagnose lung cancer early through blood analysis.
Lung Cancer Screening
Who Can Participate in the Study?
Adults ages 50-80 who:
- Are current or former smokers
- Have not had a CT scan or any other test to detect lung cancer in the last 15 months
- Have a smoking history of at least 20 "pack years" (1 pack of cigarettes per day for one year = 1 pack year)
For more information about who can join this study, please contact the study team at autumn.konz@duke.edu.
What is Involved?
Duke patients will be invited to take part in this research study because your primary care provider has requested that you receive a DELFI Lung Cancer Screening Test.
If you choose to join the study, you will have a blood draw to detect lung cancer. Following this test, you will get a random assignment (like a coin flip) to 1 of 2 groups for follow-up care:
- One group will get standard educational materials for lung cancer screening
- The other group will get Delfi Lung Cancer Screening Test Education with education on lung cancer screening
Your medical provider will be able to provide you with the results of this test. Depending on the results of your test, your medical provider may order additional testing.
