SPAN (Heart Health and Gestational Diabetes During Pregnancy) - Clinical Trial
What is the Purpose of this Study?
We are doing this study to learn more about how different factors in pregnancy lead to healthy babies. Specifically, whether factors related to father's health affect the placenta and baby, what part of placental and fetal genes are related to placenta health and baby growth, and to find out the best time to deliver when the mother has gestational diabetes.
What is the Condition Being Studied?
Cardiovasular Health and Gestational Diabetes During Pregnancy
Who Can Participate in the Study?
Adults ages 18+ who:
- Are pregnant with one baby
- Plan to deliver at Duke University Hospital or Duke Regional Hospital
The father of the baby can participate if mom enrolls.
For more information, contact the study team at caroline.nagle@duke.edu.
