Preparing For Your Visit
Appointment Length
Most appointments take one to three hours, but this can vary based on your specific eye care needs. We try to schedule all required tests during one visit to avoid multiple trips, so some visits may take longer than three hours.
What to Bring
If you are a new patient, please have your medical records sent to our office before your appointment, if possible. Your current provider can fax your medical records to us at 919-681-1013.
You should also bring a list of medicines you are currently taking, insurance information, and payment for co-pays and other out-of-pocket fees your insurance may not cover.
What to Expect
You will meet with an ophthalmic (eye) technician -- a certified eye care professional who will help your eye doctor with your exam. They will talk to you about the reason for your visit and your health history. Most appointments include a comprehensive eye exam and possibly special eye testing and imaging. Your eyes may need to be dilated, which can take up to 45 minutes.
After your exam, your eye doctor will talk to you about your test results. They will work with you to develop a treatment plan based on your specific eye care needs.
If you have questions about your visit, please call the clinic. If you need to cancel your appointment, please call 919-681-3937.
